Course Description

Family Life Education – Advanced is an upper-level professional development course designed to deepen the knowledge and ministry competence of church leaders working with families in complex and evolving Caribbean contexts. Building on foundational principles, the course explores legal frameworks, public policy, human rights considerations, and socio-religious diversity impacting family life.

Ideal for Family Life Directors and experienced church leaders, the programme equips participants with advanced skills in relationship support, ethical decision-making, and strategic ministry coordination. Through reflective practice, case study analysis, and applied projects, participants will expand their Family Life Ministry Toolkit and develop a Stakeholder Resource Map to support effective collaboration and intervention within their communities. 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Analyse legal and policy frameworks affecting families in the Caribbean
  • Apply culturally competent strategies within diverse socio-religious contexts
  • Design advanced interventions to support relationships and family well-being
  • Navigate ethical considerations and referral boundaries in pastoral care
